I once told a woman that a liberal arts degree qualifies you to ask “Would you like fries with that order?”. When she gave me a dirty look and said that she had that degree I simply said “Oh, so you already know this.”We didn’t become BFFs.
OK, time to walk my pet peeve. “Liberal arts” doesn’t mean “humanities,” assuming that’s the group you’re trying to slight. (Which is also not very accurate; you might want to look up mid-career earning for philosophy majors, for instance. It’s not that bad. But anyway.) “Liberal arts” means an academic discipline as opposed to a vocational or technical one. Physics and math are among the liberal arts.
