Starting on December 1 every year, newspapers in Iceland print a small picture on the front page, usually of the Yule Lads (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_Christmas_folklore#Yule_Lads), with a countdown until Christmas. They all got to zero today (i.e. today is Christmas). Even though I don’t celebrate Christmas myself, I’ve always thought that was wrong. Even though we open our presents on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day is still on Dec. 25.
