The Icelandic word for “telescope” literally means “star-viewer”. I have a 150/1500 mm (6/60 inches) reflecting telescope. I sometimes set it up in a nearby open area. There are often quite a few people around that area, and they sometimes stop and ask me what I’m doing. If it’s the middle of the day, I tell them that I’m using my star-viewer to look at the only visible star at that time (I have a solar filter). You wouldn’t believe how many times people ask “What star is that?”
