It’s not that there are so many synonyms for “sugar,” Llewellyn. It’s that there are so many ways to simply say “it’s totally bad for you.”…(and besides, you do NOT want to give Millie more sugar).
Actually, sugar isn’t used as a sweetener nearly as much as it was when this cartoon was first published online. The big ingredient now is high fructose corn syrup. ( Which is cheaper and actually WORSE for you than sugar. )
