I love Schroeder’s expression. “Come on, Charlie Brown, is that all you’ve got?”

Ludwig had it easy with his critics’ insults; he literally just didn’t hear them.

I’m not sure of how Schroeder would’ve handled Philip Hale, who wrote this in the Boston Symphony’s program notes in 1909-10 about Beethoven’s Ninth (bear in mind the Symphony was PERFORMING it):

“Do you believe way down in the bottom of your heart that if this music had been written by Mr. John L. Tarbox, now living in Sandown, N.H., any conductor here or in Europe could be persuaded to put it in rehearsal.”

Happy 250th Birthday to Ludwig van Beethoven, supposedly born this month in 1770 and baptized on December 17th.

CB seems to be enjoying this a little more than he should!

“Schroeder played Mendelssohn yesterday and Mendelssohn lost.”

I got a new keyboard for Christmas. I haven’t played in years! I need to put this on my music stand.

Needs a can of Pepsi to complete the Simon Cowell feel.

Get them use to it while they are young…..

After receiving a very bad review in the newspaper a conductor sent a note to the reviewer: “I am sitting in the smallest room in my house. I have your review in front of me. Soon it will be behind me.”

Schroeder won’t get such criticism. : )

Only those that do nothing are criticized more than those that do.
