This strip is dated 1955, so it actually did come before Sputnik launched in 1957

Next they’ll be saying man will land on the moon, or will be able to read old Peanuts strips in color.

That’s okay, Charlie Brown. President Eisenhower’s stomach hurt too when he learned that the Russians had launched Sputnik into earth orbit.

Now our space is littered with strings of satellites.

Wait until Charlie Brown tells her about the moon landing in a few more years.
