Charlie Brown walks off as Violet stands and exclaims,"Go on home, Charlie Brown!" A sitting Patty agrees,"Yeah, scram!"

Violet sits down and says,"Maybe we were too hard on him" Patty replies,"I'll go call him"

She walks over to the open door saying,"Come back, Charlie Brown!...We're sorry..we didn't mean it!"

She turns around as he sticks his head out from behind the door and says,"I didn't think you did!"

The early Charlie Brown had an impish quality that I find quite appealing and which was lost relatively early in the strip’s history as he became increasingly depressed.
