Charlie Brown plays with a paddleball. Lucy, carrying a sheet of paper, walks up and asks, "What letter comes after 'E'?"<br> <br> The rubber cord is wound around Charlie Brown's head. "'F'" he answers. She holds up the paper and admonishes him: "Oh, come on now..be serious.."<br> <br> Having extricated himself from the rubber band, Charlie Brown faces her and retorts: "I AM serious." Lucy throws out her arms and declares: "You're hopeless, Charlie Brown..absolutely hopeless!"<br> <br> She walks away, grumbling: "That's alwys the trouble..when you really want to learn, nobody will help you.." Charlie Brown rolls his eyes.<br> <br>
How does she not know the alphabet? She reads that alphabet book all the time
