"NO!" Charlie Brown raises his arms and shouts at Lucy, who kneels on the grass, holding holding up a football.<br> <br> "Absolutely not!" He walks away.<br> <br> "You must think I'm crazy!" He adds. Lucy stands and faces him, still holding the football. <br> <br> "You say you'll hold the ball, but you WON'T! You'll pull it away, and I'll break my neck!" Lucy remonstrates: "Why, Charlie Brown..how you talk.."<br> <br> "I wouldn't THINK of such a thing! I'm a CHANGED person! Look...Isn't this a face you can trust!" Lucy leans towards him with a smile.<br> <br> "All right..you hold the ball, and I'll come running up, and kick it..." he agress, walking away.<br> <br> Charlie Brown runs.<br> <br> "SHE DID IT AGAIN!!" he cries in dismay as Lucy whisks the football away, sending Charlie Brown flying up into the air.<br> <br> WUMP! He lands flat on his back.<br> <br> Lucy peers down at him. She offers, "I admire you, Charlie Brown...You have such faith in human nature.."<br> <br>
Been reading through Peanuts strips from the start until this date for the past six months. Looking forward to the next five years or so of my life doing the same before I reach the final strip :P
It’s amazing to see the roots of my favourite Peanuts characters & themes find their form, slowly and gradually.
