Lucy holds a jump rope. Linus holds his blanket and says, with a worried look on his face, "She is?" Linus turns and runs home.<BR><BR> Linus walks along peacefully dragging his blanket. Linus puts the blanket behind his back and says, "Oh! . . . Hi Gramma . . . When did you come?"<BR><BR> Linus says, "Behind my back? You mean . . . Behind my back? Nothing . . ."<BR><BR> Linus continues, "I mean nothing much . . . You know . . . nothing very important, that is . . ."<BR><BR> Linus looks behind him and says, "My blanket? Oh! Why, yes . . . Yes, I guess I do have it . . . You don't think kids should carry blankets, do you, Gramma?"<BR><BR> Linus waves his arms and says, "Mom doesn't mind . . . I need this blanket! It's the only real security I have!"<BR><BR> Linus says, "Hand it over? Well, I know you believe in self-control, Gramma, but . . . Hand it over?"<BR><BR> Linus hands over the blanket and then sighs and walks away.<BR><BR> Linus closes the bedroom door.<BR><BR> Linus lies on his bed, holding his blanket and sucking his thumb and says, "I decoyed her with a colored dish towel!"<BR><BR>
I wish Grandma Van Pelt would leave Linus alone and stop fighting with him about his blanket.
