Linus holds a ball out for Snoopy. Snoopy sighs.<BR><BR> Linus winds up to throw the ball. Snoopy rolls his eyes.<BR><BR> Linus throws the ball.<BR><BR> Snoopy goes to retrieve the ball and slobbers and drools all over it.<BR><BR> Snoopy carries the ball back to Linus, continuing to slobber and drool.<BR><BR> Linus takes the soggy ball between two fingers and says, "Bleah!"<BR><BR> Snoopy lies on his doghouse and thinks, "That ended that game in a hurry!"<BR><BR>
As both a longtime (lifelong!) fan of Peanuts, and as a lifelong lover of dogs, this is my all time favorite strip. I once had a dog that, when he got tired of the fetch game, would pee on the object being thrown and walk away. I sometimes wonder if Schulz had a similar experience, but cleaned it up a little for this strip!
