Lucy and Linus look at the remains of the doghouse, Lucy says, "Just look at that, will you . . ." Linus says, "I wonder how it started . . . "<BR><BR> Lucy says, "He was probably smoking in bed . . ." Linus says, "They say he lost everything . . . "<BR><BR> Lucy continues, "I'll bet that was it . . . I'll bet he was smoking in bed . . . " Linus says, "Fire is a terrible thing . . . "<BR><BR> Linus continues, "Everything is gone . . . everything!" Lucy says, "He was probably smoking in bed."<BR><BR>

Yes, he did indeed lose EVERYTHING, including his EVER-TREASURED VAN GOGH. However, he did get another painting, that was just as good, not long afterward—that Andrew Wyeth.

The closest Snoopy came to smoking in bed was when he enjoyed a chocolate cigar on top of his doghouse after Sally was born.
