Charlie Brown stands at the baseball field. Lucy approaches and says, "Guess what I just heard, Charlie Brown . . You have been selected 'Manager of the year'!"<BR><BR> Lucy continues, "The presentation will be made at Yankee Stadium, and you will ride onto the field in a huge yellow convertible with that pretty little red-haired girl at you side!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown smiles and says, "Really?" Lucy smiles and replies, "No! April Fool!!"<BR><BR> Lucy walks away and laughs. Charlie Brown frowns and says, "I can't stand it . . ."<BR><BR>

If Charlie Brown had allowed himself to be aware of the fact that this was April 1, he’d have said to Lucy, as she came up to him, with her “good news”: “Ho,HO,Lucy! I bet THIS is your April Fool’s joke on me! So WHATEVER it is, I DON”T want to hear it! See you LATER!"and with that, would stalk off,ignoring anything she would have called after him.
