"Hey, manager!" Lucy, standing in the ball field, yells.<BR><BR> "Have you ever noticed how the people in the stands really don't know what we're saying when we have these conferences on the mound?" Lucy faces Charlie Brown, who stand on the pitcher's mound. Schroeder stands on his other side.<BR><BR> "All they have to go by is the way we wave our arms." Lucy raises her arms.<BR><BR> In this panel they are in silhouette. Lucy continues: "See, I point to the outfield, and they think I'm talking about something out there..."<BR><BR> "Or I can hold up two fingers, and they think I'm saying that there's two outs now, and we have to get this next hitter..." Lucy demonstrates. Charlie Brown and Schroeder stare at her.<BR><BR> "No one in the stands can tell what I'm really saying..." Lucy opens her arms and looks out.<BR><BR> "What is it that you're really saying?" Schroeder asks.<BR><BR> "I think you're kind of cute!" Lucy pushes her face close to his, smiling. Now Charlie Brown stands behind her.<BR><BR> "I can't stand it!" Schroeder walks off. Lucy walks off in the other direction, humming. Charlie Brown sighs.<BR><BR>
