Woodstock and Snoopy are sitting atop the doghouse. Snoopy is reading a book; he thinks,"A little neglect may breed mischief."

He thinks as Woodstock looks at him,"For want of a nail, the shoe was lost."

He continues,"For want of a shoe the horse was lost...and for want of a horse the rider was lost."

He thinks,"They left out the best part...."

He puts the book down, closes his eyes, and raises a finger; he thinks,"For want of a beagle, the battle was lost!"

They start giggling. They fall off the doghouse with double klunks.

As Woodstock lies on the ground still giggling, Snoopy thinks,"For want of a soft place to land, I have a headache!"
