Peppermint Patty is on the phone. Marcie watches as she says, "C'mon, Chuck..answer the phone."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown picks up the phone: "Hello?"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty and Marcie are seated. Peppermint Patty says, "Hi, Chuck..do you have a pencil handy?"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown looks off to the side. He says, "No, but I can get one.."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty explains,"We have a new phone number..I just want to give it to you.." Marcie, sitting on her knees, interjects, "Ask him if he still loves me."<BR><BR> They sit facing one another. Peppermint Patty says, "From now on that's our number..did you get it?" Marcie adds, "Ask him if he ever thinks about me..."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown answers, "I'm not sure I can remember it."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty demands, "Didn't you write it down? I told you to get a pencil..."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown, in profile, responds, "I don't have any paper..You didn't say anything about paper..."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty grits her teeth: "Chuck, you blockhead!" Marcie says, "Ask him if he still thinks I'm cute..." [PANEL 11]: Peppermint Patty lies propped up by a pillow. She says wearily, "Forget it, Chuck! Don't call me..I'll call you...like in a hundred years!" Marcie says, "You didn't ask him."<BR><BR>
