Marcie approaches and says, "Bonjour, capitaine!"<BR><BR> Marcie stands in the grass with The World War I Flying Ace. She holds a ball and asks, "Does The World War I Flying Ace know how to play 'Petanque'? Then, I shall show him . ."<BR><BR> Marcie says, "'Petanque' organized in Provence in 1910 . ."<BR><BR> Marcie tosses a small ball and says, "We begin by tossing a small wooden ball ahead of us called the 'Cochonnet.'"<BR><BR> The World War I Flying Ace holds a large ball. Marcie says, "You will then pitch this heavy metal 'Boule' as close to the 'Cochonnet' as you can . . . Of course, you must be careful not to drop the heavy 'Boule' on your . ."<BR><BR> The World War I Flying Ace grabs his foot after droping the ball on it.<BR><BR> Marcie carries The World War I Flying Ace and says, "The Flying Ace is returned to the field hospital . ."<BR><BR> Snoopy lies in a hospital bed with his foot in a cast. He thinks, "'What did you do in the great war, grampa?' 'I was wounded playing 'Petanque.''"<BR><BR>
Oh, they’re just playing bocce. I thought “petanque” was French for “Petaluma”.
