Snoopy’s reaction in the last panel has the look that he wanted to say “whinings” instead of innings.

Espececially when Charlie Brown’s pitching. I think he’ll grow up to work in the sports medicine field.

Striking to see Schultz going into “public message” mode here. I’d be curious to know the date of this strip.

This arc brings to mind Mark (The Bird) Fidrych of the Detroit Tigers. He pitched 4 outstanding seasons from 1976 to 1980 and had to quit because his arm gave out. The doctors said it was because he had been pitching since he was 8 years old and the damage was done while the child was developing. Shulz’ lesson here is very important.

Could your strip include the original date the comic was seen in the newspaper?

The flashing banner is annoying.

I wonder if they ever did a Peanuts PSA to distribute among Little Leaguers back then? I don’t remember ever seeing one, but I was in rural southern America, nowhere near any ‘mainstream’ towns or states.

Fidrych tore his rotator cuff, which was not diagnosed until years after he quit trying to come back.

Thankfully there are now pitch counts and limits on how often a kid can pitch in Dixie Youth.
