BTW Linus,a dog’s sense of smell 500 times thatof a human..I suspect that is why dogs like to stick their noses out the window of some stinky car. It may smell nice to make him then but not so much to a dog. Either that or they’re cruising fora female in season.

Or, maybe they think they will be able to smell that a savory bone later. . Or perhaps they see squirrels burying acorns only to have a tree come up later. Bury enough bones and maybe a roast tree could sprout. That is my personal favorite reasons why dogs bury bones.
