I’ve always thought the most “random” kids Schulz created were the twin girls dancing near Schroeder’s piano during the play rehearsal in “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” I remember as a kid wondering who they were because I’d never seen them before (and I devoured Peanuts paperback books). Shermy and 5? Not so much random as recurrent, like Franklin and Roy were later.
