Yes, I started on a typewriter. Though I think wordprocessing (when I got it in 1984) was a godsend. BTW, when I give fiction writing tips, the first thing I say is don’t start your story with ‘It was a dark and stormy night.’ My point being a writer’s view point should not be passive, disengaged third person, and cliche`. But I brought a copy of this comic to our writing group years ago for a good laugh.
