Was that Snoopy? He looked like Charlie Brown!

What a delightfully odd strip this was. Snoopy doesn’t get angry often. Annoyed, sure, but he was bird-icidal here, with disturbingly graphic detail. Of course, this is 1967 and that bird is obviously not Woodstock. But still, I gotta wonder what Sparky had on his mind while drawing this.

Snoopy is the meat in a Home Sandwich.

These days in the UK and many parts of continental Europe it’s against the law to disturb a birds’ nest. however since there aren’t any Birdie Police making the rounds, I’ve always wondered how they even know.

I’ve had birds nest in the garage right over the dryer. Then I need to leave a door open for them. OK by me.

Hope Snoopy also remembers this week will be the annual BE KIND TO ANIMALS WEEK.

Well…the point of this strip, and others like it that Schulz did over the years, is NOT “Just don’t lie there and take it,” but rather “Just don’t lie there. Get up and do something else.” Sheesh.

I seem to remember a Daffy Duck episode about fixing someone’s little red wagon………
