One just cannot become a prophet willy-nilly. You have to be called on high to do so.

I am personally very wary of self-proclaimed prophets. The real ones never wanted the job, and the self-styled lot usually do.

Praise the lord!

First, be sure you’ll not mess the Word of God with the great pumpkin.

Knowing ahead of time would make for a good prophet, don’t’cha think?

“Self-proclaimed prophet” should set of warning klaxons in anyone’s head even louder than those for “self-proclaimed genius.”

Don’t you have to suffer first?

One time when Linus was going door-to-door to bring the message of the Great Pumpkin, the girl who’d answered the door called to her mother for advice, referring to him as “a false prophet.” What her mother said in response isn’t shown, but the girl remarked, “He’s gone … I think he heard you.”

Prophets need to be stubborn: “The world will end tomorrow. The world will end TOMORROW. Like I keep saying, the world will end next week sometime!”

Legitimate Prophets must have at least one of their prophecies eventually come true, so that people will not think they are just Crazy.

That’s right, Linus. Make yourself heard!
