Why is that 3rd frame so funny? Lucy being asked to make a salad is a funny idea, I guess, and the way she says it with that baffled expression.

Nah, Linus. Go with 1 Timothy 2:11-15 instead. Or how about 1 Corinthians 11:8-9. Or Ephesians 5:22-25.

“And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.”

That’s an interesting choice, given it’s part of the narrative of the rape of Dinah. Personally, I’ve always liked Hosea 2:19-20:

“And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

“I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.”

That is not a good passage of Scripture to recommend marriage.
