Rat: I'm thinking about writing a book about a meth dealer who battles an alcoholic ex-cop for control of New York's underworld, but I fear it wouldn't get published. Goat: Sounds interesting. Why wouldn't it get published? Rat: It's a children's book. Goat: Please sit somewhere else. Rat: Could make a nice pop-up book.

Compared to the video games that are marketed to children, Rat’s book sounds pretty mild. It might even get past the PTA.

Definitely an untapped market. I’d buy a copy. And I know exactly who I’d gift it to.

This is what happens after you binge-view “Breaking Bad”. Next….Rat should binge-view “Game of Thrones”. Rat & Dany would be great foes. Whatcha think Pastis???

Mr. Pastis visited my kids’ elementary school this past week promoting his new children’s book series. (I think it’s called Timmy Failure?) All I could think of is the way Rat writes stories. I asked my daughter if – by any chance – there is a character named “Danny Donkey” and to my relief, the answer was “no.”

When he returned, his lab was brightly colored in reds and blues. “This is just beautiful!”, he cried. Putting on his meanest scowl, he went to the secret room to get his favorite automatic weapon, Mr. Poppy. “Let’s go make some new friends, Mr. Poppy.”, he said.

Rat should indeed sit somewhere else. Tierra del Fuego first comes to mind!
