Is Pastis going to have Pig kick a Rabbi next? He’s looking for a lightning bolt to the forehead.

I remember years ago at the Disney store noticing a Pooh-themed menorah, with each candle held up by a different character. I believe Christopher Robin was the shammas..Piglet looked particularly uncomfortable with his role.

Maybe, Goat, you should have these discussions more often rather than less often. Maybe Pig would learn then! And, yet, I’m not too comfortable with the idea of a porker in a synagogue….

The people from Trid have a tradition of going up a hill to watch the sunrise every morning. One day, a visiting rabbi accompanies the Trids up their hill. An ogre appears and kicks them all back down – all except the rabbi. The rabbi asked the ogre, “Why didn’t you kick me?”. The ogre says, “Silly rabbi, kicks are for Trids”.

Somehow, I don’t think that Pig would really be welcome at a Temple. Something about pork not being Kosher. Shellfish too, for that matter.

A few years ago there was some kind of silly photoshopping contest on Fark.com with weekly topics. One week the topic was inappropriate pictures. My daughter entered a photo of a piglet dressed in the Jewish blue and white. The piglet’s name was “Treyfie.”

Seattle Times also ran a re-run today. This strip seems mild, I’m surprised.

Wait a minute. Would a pig even be allowed in a synagogue? Aren’t swine “unclean” animals?

When I was little kid, I thought the rabbis were rabbits! I really wanted to be Jewish for about a year when I was like 5 or 6. I wanted to hear what the rabbits said about the Lord.
