There is some truth in what Opal is saying: someone does have to be an adult if the other “adult” is more like a child. If both of them were like Earl then who would be looking after the “grown-up” things? I doubt Opal was always this grumpy and nit-picky. Sometimes the seedling is bent because of a forceful wind - in this case call they call the wind Earl.
