It kind of looks like she lifted his feet for him.

He had to think about what she said. That’s work for Earl!

And a stay at home mom doesn’t work does she not norman?

Earl should be helping out as all men should.

When does Opal’s retirement start?

what was Opal doing while Earl was working? Loafing? Not hardly.

I get this same sarcasm from my wife.

Joe Allen Doty…. who do you refer to, Opal or Pearl. Pearl is Opal’s oldest sister.

This explains one of the reasons my parents started griping at each other the last few years of my Dad’s life. He retired early, but had rental properties & farming to help bring in more money and kept him busy outside the house. Once his health started failing, and he sold off most of his rental properties & farm land, he was inside of the house most of the time. Retired men need to help more with the work around the house, or find something productive to do away from the house.

Before retirement, what did Earl do to support his family anyway?

No Opal, I can guarantee there’s a lot of THAT around.

Opal was no Rosie the Riveter, that was covered several times with Sylvia reminiscing.
