I agree, Number Six…..plenty of free gum, discarded fast food, the odd drunk in the gutter. They DO clean the streets around here, but, well, what’s the point?
Ugh, those moochers drive me nuts! I totally understand walking by and quickly grabbing a sample on your way to get an 80-pack of toilet paper. But the ones who shove by you, sit at the stations and block the aisles, and go back for seconds and thirds need to move on and go buy whatever it is they’re handing out for free. The last time I was at Costco, some older man zipped up to a station, snatched a sample off a tray and shoved it in his mouth without even looking at it. The employee told him that it wasn’t cooked yet and to please not take things off the tray again. You bet he was there to get his samples and not buy a thing. He didn’t even have a cart.
We here have to be carefull. Going to places that give seniors cheaper prices. I would like to go to Sam’s for the food they let customer’s sample, sad part there is some I cannot have.
We arrived at BJs a couple of weeks ago to discover the neighborhood restaurants were lined up in the main aisle, giving out samples! Good lunch for nothing! (After all that we did buy $87 worth of merchandise…LOL.)

That’s not exactly free…considering the membership fee.

Earl’s way of conserving napkins is better, Opal. At least you’re not wiping your face with yesterday’s lunch.

I think Pearl should stack the used-once paper napkins in the bathroom to be used instead of toilet paper.
