    There is trouble even if pronounced correctly: process (ah vs. oh), about (US, Canada, and Scotland are all different); and that doesn’t even get into orthography (-or vs. —our). Divided by a common language.

    I have a friend from New Orleans that say’s

    ‘chimbly’ in place of chimney,and ‘ascared’ instead

    of scared. I asked him about it one time he just

    said "ahso’…I didn’t appreciate that considering that

    he wasn’t Japanese.
