I have never actually been able to find what I was told was right in my wife’s purse yet. Don’t even try anymore, just hand it to her and like magic she will get it.
I’ve heard the best way to keep a guy out of your purse, is to put a mousetrap in there. I know my hubby is scared to reach inside my purse. It might be that he has a sewing pins & needles phobia given to him by his mom’s actions. I have been known to carry a sewing kit and/or safety pins in my purse, so I’m guessing that explains his reluctance. My sons have no problem, other than I have to give them directions for them to find what I want them to retrieve for me. (Usually while I’m driving.)
I’m one of the villains. My husband is always complaining about my purse, but he’s also the one who’ll ask, “Do you have any _________?” (pens, paper, hand sanitizer, water, kitchen sinks, etc.). Of course I do!
I remember participating in a College Bowl contest (that was what we called Trivial Pursuit, back in the day). My mom drove some of the participants, and handed out pens so we could fill out the entrance forms. She had handed out 4, and a teacher was going to ask for one, stopped himself and said, “Nobody carries 5 pens.” She smiled and handed him a pen.
She too forbade us from getting in her purse…strangely, though, she thought it was OK to read my journal when I was at school. And then criticise what I had written. No wonder I am wary of writing things down.
My mom would literally get bruises on her arm from carrying her purse! But with 6 kid there was always plenty to be carried around, most of which ended up in her purse!“Mom, can you carry this?” “Honey, can you put this in your purse for me? Thanks!”…etc, etc.
I’m one of those people with heavy purses. I think mine’s about 5 pounds. I don’t know why exactly, but when I look through it, everything seems to be something I’d need. I usually only carry 3 pens though, not 5 :) I carry hand sanitizer too.

Look at the size of that and most purses. The kitchen sink must be in there…

Has anyone played the "Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy " game? We need the “thing his aunt gave him!”
