@linguist. Modern babes is right. I told my eight year old grandson when I was young I had no I-pad, no I-phone and lived in a house that had two bedrooms and I bathroom. He said “that is so sad”

My grandmother had a very unique way of speaking, that was reflective of her Northern Irish hometown. While my mother also used many of the the same aphorisms, they were not delivered with the same nuance. At the behest of an editor friend of mine, my mother self-published a small book of these witty and/or pointed sayings – we then gave them to the members of our family as a gift for posterity.Not only was it well received, but now, almost 40 years later, is still being requested and reprinted for younger and younger generations, interested in the family history, or in learning how the "ole timers " spoke. This is especially true of my cousins still living in Ireland !

It’s a good idea for the patriarch or matriarch of a family to share their thoughts and memories. The world continues changing very rapidly.

Don’t worry Facebook doesn’t have any “dislikes”, unfortunately..
