Poor kid - a Plugger DAD would be able to remind him that when DAD was a kid - hamburgers were TEN CENTS each - and IF you spent a whole dollar - you could get a BAKER’S DOZEN of hamburgers (13) PLUS four fountain drinks PLUS four orders of fries!

For a whole 99 CENTS – TWO couples could take their double dates to the burger shop AFTER the movie - so long as one or both girls were willing to throw in the extra penny!

I can remember when the MAJOR topic around the local coffee shop was the expectation that the world was surely going to heck in a hand-basket because the local grocery store was thinking of raising the price of eggs from EIGHT CENTS PER DOZEN to ten CENTS per dozen! These days, you can’t even find a typewriter which has a CENTS sign on the keyboard!
