11 00? WOW..this old plugger had to be in by 10:00. And that didn’t mean 10:01, either!

Father, I would think. But I’m more interested in that waning crescent moon outside. If they’re in the northern hemisphere (as Williamsport, PA is, last time I looked!), that moon would be rising some time after midnight and before the sunrise! Does he mean 11 AM??

Telling time by the phase of the moon? I’ve seen this before on Gocomics and elsewhere. Where does it come from? The moon waxs and wanes in a *monthly *cycle (that’s why it’s a Moonth) If it rises as a “waning crescent” its going to set the same way. If any e-astronomer can explain it to me, I’ll listen!

Comic moons bear no resemblance to the real moon. All sorts of things can be done in ‘toon land without a repercussion. Refer to Wile-E-Coyote (beep-beep)

Being a young Plugger, he should have said, “I’ll go with the “or else”, then left. (In fact, when “Pluggers” began one of the first cartoons was, “A Plugger, when given the option of “something or else”, will always go with the “or else”.)
