I saw one of those age drop-down menus other day on an car insurance website. It went all the way back to 1911. I was really tempted to find out what insurance would cost for a 99 yr old.
I’ve seen the same thing. My mom just had a prescription ok through her insurance for the next 60 years. She’ll be 134 the next time she has to get it ok’d again.
Heh, this one is so true. The good news is that over @ Mozilla, they have someone working on problems with forms on the Internet. For anyone technical, it’s called HTML 5, and it’s under construction for the next ten years. This is something we might see sooner rather than later.

I hate when that happens…

Looks like a Plugger CRT computer monitor. I haven’t had one of those “monsters” in years.

The most annoying thing is that they don’t trust you to just type in the date. You are required to select it from their list…..

I keep worrying that the list will end before reaching my year of birth, because they just assume most people don’t live that long!!

Look on the bright side: soon the average lifespan will be getting shorter again.

“Gender” is a grammatical term. Persons are of the male or female “sex.” “Lucerna” (Latin: lamp) is feminine in gender.

I am just happy that pluggers have discovered computers, even if that guy picked his up at the landfill and had his grandkid set it up for him.

RitGN49: That’s because some people type 1970, some type 70, and a lot of people typo. It’s easier on the computer to use a drop-down.
GretchensMom: The choices are usually “Male”, “Female”, and “I do not wish to answer”.

It’s not that Pluggers discovered computers – WE invented them!

I also want to know what the third type is!

Sometimes you can just type the year in, and it automatically jumps right to it.
