My husband and I always tease each other about this. Whenever either one of us finds something while we’re out, we always come home and say: “Here’s another penny to add to our retirement fund!” (Over 22 years time, we might actually have $3.00 or $4.00 in that little bank on the bookshelf by now!)

I would too, but they don’t contain copper anymore. How much is a pound of aluminum worth these days?

My plugger still picks up pennies, even squished ones, and he’s got three bulging discs. I don’t get it!

On the other hand, Pluggers’ backs often give out and leavee them bent over on the sidewalk… but hey, a quarter!

ak4mc & FishStix, it’s not about what one penny or one quarter is worth – they add up.

Well yeah – do you know how many pennies it takes to get a pound of aluminum?

If you are really careful about how you go about picking up those coins, you do all right.
