I don’t get. Is it a towel towel that’s been baked in the sun that it’s too hot, or is it a towel that’s been baked inthe sun that it’s as stiff as a board?

Exfoliate comes from the Latin exfoliare (to strip off leaves). When one exfoliate skin one removed dead skin cells. A ruff towel would do that.

A towel that has been hung out to dry will be stiff and scratchy.

I always sun-dry my towels. They are stiffer and more absorbent than those out of a dryer. The roughness isn’t a detraction and, as I pat dry, isn’t an annoyance.

Growing up back on the farm, Mom always would wait til a really windiy day to wash the bath towels. Hanging them in a stiff wind, made them snap and fluff themselves like no softener ever could! And the smell of the outdoors…………..MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Wrong … if it is dried in the spring or summer. Then they are absolutely fresh and wonderful! Right … if Sibyl is trying to ‘freeze dry’ her towels in the winter.

A sun-dried towel can be softened by waving it vigorously. Teddy was right – that is what the wind did.
