Or when the grocery checker asks “Do you need help getting that to your car?” I resist the urge to say “No, I’m not that decrepit yet…”

A lot of the women around here are happy to have doors held open for them, but not a word of thanks. Also they’re quite happy to open doors for themselves but don’t hold them open for anyone else..And can we have “Men Only” days is supermarkets, please?

I’ve had men stop in their tracks at seeing a old lady with a cane(me) holding a door for THEM.I just tell them “to get a move on. I’m not standing here all day.”

note the shocked, stunned look of realization that he has become , and has been for some time, a member of the old guy set, all of whom who are in apparent need of assistance to get through a door.

there’s so little decency and courtesy left today, that I always accept this and try to express gratitude, as well… while ruefully remembering, “I guess I ain’t a threat anymore…”

A “young girl” hasn’t started grade school yet. That one looks like a “young woman.”

I get offered the senior discount at the grocery store, though I’m a couple of years shy of qualifying. Once I asked the checker if she would have wanted to see my ID if I said I did qualify. She winked and said, “I’d leave it to your conscience.”

I stopped opening a door for a lady(other than my wife) a long time ago after two ‘ladies’ called me a ‘pig’ and took a swing at me with their purses ! !

I consider any day wasted if I have not flirted with at least one unattractive woman by sunset… over and out…

There is a trick to that. I have doors held all the time. I walk with a stick. Opens a lot of doors…. Thank you, I appreciate that!

I’ve never forgotten the first time a young man raced me to the door, I thought to hold it for me,…. how sweet! Uh….not exactly. He dashed through so he would be ahead of me in line at the bank. The day my ego died..

Every day that a young woman doesn’t open a door for me is a good day.
