bfrg1513: Close. Dallas, but in the mid 1950s to 1965. I worked my way through Methodist seminary teaching square dancing at a black Catholic high school, among other unlikely jobs. Did you know anyone from the Stonesteppers (Harry Stone rec center) in your period? One of them is in my congregation, 1965 to present, but no longer dancing. Please reply tomorrow.

But if they’re in good condition, you can always donate them to a thrift store.

Exactly! Pluggers do not throw away anything useable. All the shoes I can’t or don’t wear anymore went to a nice local thrift shop.

I thought the exact same thing: WRONG!!!! Pluggers DO NOT toss out anything that is still of use. We donate and thank God we can.

You’re a Plugger when your feet have gotten too HUGE for your old pumps! Fortunately, her closet is packed with boxes full of newer, bigger shoes!

I can not remember the last time I owned a pair of heels. Think it was just before I moved out. I never wore high heels more like thick kitten heels.
