Woops, I’m out! All I carry is a couple tissues and a car key.

I usually go with a fanny pack (or bum bag as it’s called in the UK) on some items.

My dad insisted on wearing two-pocket shirts. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a two-pocket dress shirt? (He always wore a shirt & tie to work.) My mother would find some and buy as many as the store had so that he always had them. I even made one for him once, and several times used spare material from the extra-long shirttail to attach that second pocket.

When I was working, I had to carry too many thingsin addition to my keys, ID and money, I carried a clipboard, pens, office checkbook, camera, phone, a few hand tools, (later a laptop computer) .There was no way I could haul around a purse, too. It’s a real chore finding women’s clothing with adequate pockets so I had to layer stuff, even in summer.I always felt like a bag lady.

Gildan makes great tees with long and short sleeves, some with pockets, some without. Very reasonably priced, too. and great colors available. I get them at Boscov’s, but that’s here in the Philadelphia area.

I used to be quite a nerd, with the pocket protector and all. As I grew older and more successful, I discovered I could do just fine without carrying all those accessories in or out of pockets!

These days, although I have a fob for the car, there is no brass key. Also, no keys required to unlock the house or the cabin. The only small knife I carry is part of my money clip along with a fingernail file.

    I think I’m good to go…
