Back in the ’60’s, our schnauzer, Trixie had a one night stand with Pierre, a local poodle. We called the pups schnoodles, poozers really didn’t sound right. Didn’t get big money for them though, but they sure were cute and smart.
My friend paid big money for a “malti-poo”, a cross between a maltese and a teacup poodle. It was supposed to be an extremely tiny dog, maxing out at 6 pounds. She got cheated, though. The dog ended up twice that size. I was with her when she picked up the dog – it was like a drug deal; in a parking lot with no names exchanged and cash only. No wonder she got taken!
Our oldest daughter just brought home a little Boston Terrier. Her name is Luna and she is 5 weeks old and weighs just 5 pounds. She is a rescue dog and her previous owner was diagnosed with terminal cancer just after she got the dog.
As someone whose had three rescues in my life. I have to agree with Harvey Levin, (The People’s Court, TMZ) that shelter dogs make great pets because they remember what you did for them.
