Been there, done that !

I don’t remember lye soap, but there were other punishments (that I deserved and learned from) that were equally effective.

For me it was my Father’s (VERY HOT) Tabasco sauce across my lips by my Mother’s index finger……………………..OUCH!!!!!!

Those were my early days. Thank goodness I stop that as well as smoking.

Just don’t use Lifebuoy. Don’t want to blind the kid.

Palmolive was the worst.

The children have potty mouths because too many of the parents/caregivers have potty mouths.

I heard the words, but was taught that we don’t use them in our family. The quick lesson was the soap.

My parents used it on me! Don’t dare now! It’d be labeled child abuse.

My mom used Fels Naptha soap. Fels-Naptha is an American brand of bar laundry soap used for pre-treating stains on clothing and as a home remedy for exposure to poison ivy and other skin irritants. Fels-Naptha is manufactured by and is a trademark of the Dial Corporation, a subsidiary of Henkel.

My mother (may she rest in peace) used GI soap if my brother & I said a bad word.
