If they have to hype it that much,,,and if I have to drive 5 hours to see it…it can’t be as good as going down the block to see a granddaughter’s school play.
Didn’t Pluggers have to take a language in high school. I’m not sure they do now, but we had to. French was really popular when I was in school. Didn’t learn much, but I can pronounce Cirque Du Soleil.
What? I can see stuff on YouTube or TV without the beastly noisy crowd, many of whom are probably sick. Plus…id get a migraine….which is my main reason for not going. (That and every once in awhile someone dies. Scary!).
How disrespectful can you get?! Since most (but not all) Pluggers are also senior citizens, I’m going to say to you the same thing I tell junior high/middle/ high school students when I speak to them: When you say hateful things to or about senior citizens you should remember 2 things: First: Someone somewhere could be saying those same disrespectful things to or about your parents. and second: One day, if you’re blessed to live long enough, someone somewhere could say those same disrespectful things to or about you. Also you should respect senior citizens (and Pluggers) for another reason: If it wasn’t for them you wouldn’t be here and be able to do the things you can do or have the opportunities to try new things.
A Cirque du Soleil performance is like the Olympics but in costume and with a story tying the acts together. I wouldn’t drive 5 hours to see it but have been known to drive 1 1/2 hours. Find a nice restaurant in the vicinity of the performance and you have an excellent evening.

That plugger knows not what he’ll be missing: a circus performance.

I have seen video footage of Cirque Du Soleil; way too weird for my tastes.

I remember seeing it succinctly described as “the $40 circus”. (It’s probably much more expensive now.)
