Pooch Cafe by Paul Gilligan for September 18, 2007
Transcript:
Chazz: Poncho, how did you get stuck in a tree? Poncho: I was trying to put that little bird back in its nest. Chazz: Well, that won't do any good now. Once someone has touched a baby bird, the mother won't care for it anymore. Poncho: Sheesh, I don't wanna say it, but that's some cruuuummmy parenting.
Paul Gilligan shouldn’t spread untruths in his comics. That is just a myth that a mama bird won’t take care of her baby if it’s been touched by a human! This is from Google:“If you can find the nest (it may be well hidden), put the bird back as quickly as possible. Don’t worry—parent birds do not recognize their young by smell. They will not abandon a baby if it has been touched by humans.”
