Poncho: Hey, Snuffles. Snuffles: Hey, guys. Poncho: Why is your leash still on? We're in a dog park. Snuffles: Snort. My master doesn't have faith in me to come when I'm called. If he'd just let me off leash, I'd show him that I can be a good dog! Master: Snuffles! Here, Snuffles! Come, Snuffles! Boomer: Aren't you going to come? Snuffles: Forget it! If he's going to keep in on a leash, then I'm not responding to his calls! Poncho: There's definitely some sort of analogy about life in there somewhere.

Hey Tim, I have bassets too. My Lucy just flat basseted on me yesterday during her wa!k. I had to wait until she was rested enough to continue. Since she’s a big girl (about 80 pounds), the ‘drag’ option just doesn’t work for me.
