Poncho: Only one more week till Christmas! Hey, what gives? There's only one lousy gift with my name on it! Chazz: Christmas isn't about getting gifts, Poncho! It's about remembering the Son of god and all he stood for. It's about appreciating how fortunate you are and celebrating the joys of the world. That's the important part of Christmas. Any presents are just a bonus. Poncho: Cheapskate.

Let’s see what he has to say when HE gets just one present!

Reminds me of some of my family… One present is one more than some other doggies are going to get this year Poncho. He’s so cute (love the first frame) but a little mis-guided still.

I bet he gets more than just one.

I come from a family that are all Jehovah’s Witnesses, I’m the only one not a Witness. Guess my tree is not going to have a surplus of gifts.

Good for you Mr. Gilligan. You have captured the true meaning of Christmas in your strip and did not back down from PC pressure. God bless you and Merry Christmas.

Be glad you have one. Thousands of kids in this country won’t get even that this year.

@Michael McMillan, I feel so bad for you. I know it’s probably difficult for you to be the only one who is NOT one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in your family, but think how painful it is for your family not to have you solidly beside them. I know their hearts are breaking and they pray for you constantly.
How do I know that? I’m one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and my brother whom I love with my whoe heart has chosen not to be. I really cry when I pray and ask Jehovah to give him a heart that will permit him to join the rest of us and really be a part of our spiritual family as well as a much loved part of our natural family.
May Jehovah bless you Michael and your family as well.

I suppose we could start a religious war, but this isn’t the time or place for it. I am a Christian, and will be celebrating to the best of my ability the real meaning of the season. A little short on presents perhaps because of the aforementioned fact plus the fact that I’m kinda broke right now (which means I’m not buying any gifts for myself either) but that still leaves the fact that God gave us the greatest gift ever. You can’t beat that, no matter how hard you try.
