Dog 1: Whew! There's an accepted truth that dogs don't have rhythm, but I'd say we nailed it! Think we broke this guy down?
Pops: Don't touch him! He's still catagious!
Dog 1: Um....I....Um...What do I do with it?
Pops: I dunno....disinfect it.
Lactoferrin is a protein in saliva which binds with iron. Most bacteria need iron to live. When dogs lick wounds their saliva kills some bacteria. Dogs licking wounds is an evolved response which moves their genes forward in time. It is the same with you. When you cut your finger in put it in your mouth you are following a similar genetically driven pattern of action.
