In my college physics class, we once had to figure out how many carnival-size helium balloons would be needed to lift a 175 lb. man off the ground. IIRC, it was around 6,000. So, if Poncho’s a 30 lb. dog, you’d need around 1,000 balloons just to lift him off the ground, and probably a lot more to get him to 30,000 ft.
