“All I know is that first you’ve got to get mad. You’ve got to say, ’I’m a HUMAN BEING, God d.a.m.n it! My life has VALUE!’ So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, ’I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!’ I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell – ’I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!… You’ve got to say, ’I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Then we’ll figure out what to do…”
Poncho should be trying to ransom the balloon dog back, and he should tell him that he is totally ruthless. He should be careful though or balloon dog will lose a lot more volume than Bette Midler ever did.
I saw ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ on TV many years back. Did not like it and never have wanted to see it again. Don’t understand why others like it so much, and don’t try to change my mind. There are lots of better comedies from that same decade.

Poncho can’t smell the difference between a live dog and a dead one? …Eh, he probably assumed the other dog had been rolling in something dead.

So why didn’t the puppeteer react to him cutting off his dog? Or come looking for it? Was he a dummy too?

Yeah, DeLorians make the best time machines. I use that factoid all the time.
