Depends- on if the guy ever has time to be with his friends.
If he makes the choice every day to come home and be with his family (or out of the studio in this case) as soon as possible, and spends the weekend shuttling the kids to their sports games on their fields or to their friends,
Then arranging a time to say “go out and have fun, we know you’ll be with us making memories until you get together with your friends for the Super Bowl, 6 months from now” is a gift!
My father went out with coworkers once a week. At lunch, when he’d be eating at the office otherwise. He had a meeting monthly with others in his field- half social, half business. He was with us the rest of the time.

And he’d still drop anything if we asked!
